Divide and Conquer

Just as Affirmed Success' new life was beginning with his victory in the Poker H. (G3), Divide and Conquer's ended on the turf course at Belmont Park in the same race.

Easily recognizable for his prominent overbite, this Ogden Mills Phipps-bred son of Danzig out of the Sir Ivor mare, Royal Solution, had been running in 2000 for Robert Perez. His most recent victory came on March 1 in a one-mile allowance event at Gulfstream Park in which he defeated Keep It Strait and Vision of Night (GB) in 1:33.56.

While he never won an added money event, he did place in the Kelso H. (G2), the Fourstardave H. (G3) and Dixie S. (G2) (to Middlesex Drive and Comic Strip) and two other turf stakes.

Overall, 6 year old Divide and Conquer won 6 and placed in 12 other races from 38 starts. He earned $325,042, all but $29,420 of which was earned as a turf runner.
