Mossflower

Mossflower, sidelined after her impressive June victory over Champion Ajina, Glitter Woman, Dixie Flag, and Colonial Minstrel in the Hempstead Handicap (G1) in her first stakes start, is shown at trainer Richard Schosberg's Saratoga barn Saturday morning, August 29, 1998.

Affirmed, who never ran on turf but who has become known as a sire of several exceptional grass runners, is the sire of main track performers Mossflower (undefeated in 6 starts), another Schosberg trainee and highly successful sprinter, Affirmed Success, and is the maternal grandsire of Secret Firm, winner of the King's Bishop Stakes on Travers Day.
