Barathea (IRE): 90, Sadler's Wells-Brocade, by Habitat
Won the 1994 Mile at Churchill Downs in course-record time of 1:34 2/5 under Frankie Dettori. One of only four British horses to win the Breeders' Cup. Trained by Luca Cumani and owned by Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum and Gerald Leigh. Currently stands at Rathberry Stud in Ireland, and Widden Stud in Australia.
Barathea will be represented at Churchill Downs this year in the Juvenile when his son, Red Sea, attempts to upset the strong American contingent. The last foreign invader to capture the Juvenile was Arazi, winning the same year as Barathea at Churchill Downs.
